Does any of this sound familiar?
You look like you’re functioning just fine to everyone else, but inside you’re struggling with worry, sadness, emptiness, or a persistent feeling that something isn’t right.
You feel stuck in a heaviness that’s difficult to explain. It’s hard to imagine things changing, and sometimes you wonder whether you’ll ever feel like yourself again.
You replay conversations in your head, second-guess what you said, and worry about things that haven’t even happened yet.
A text from a friend sits unanswered for days, not because you don’t care, but because replying feels like too much.
You’re constantly hard on yourself, focusing on what you’ve done wrong, what you haven’t accomplished, or all the ways you think you’re falling short.
Things you used to love now feel like one more item on the to-do list.
You can feel like yourself again.
How I work with anxiety and depression
The goal of our work isn’t to eliminate difficult feelings. They’re part of being human. What we can change is how much they control you.
My approach is primarily psychodynamic and relational, which means we’ll look at how your history and relationships shape what you’re feeling now. I also draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and other approaches, depending on what you need.
We’ll explore what’s underneath your anxiety or depression: the fears, beliefs, and patterns that may be feeding it. But we’ll also pay attention to your everyday life — how you talk to yourself, what you do when difficult feelings come up, and the ways you might be keeping yourself stuck without realizing it. We’ll practice recognizing what sets off certain reactions and learning to create space between what you feel and how you respond.
Something I often find is that people struggling with anxiety or depression are incredibly hard on themselves. They believe they should be doing more, feeling better, or handling things differently. Part of our work is learning to recognize that inner critic without automatically believing everything it says. Using mindfulness and practical strategies, we’ll work on meeting difficult thoughts and feelings with more compassion, so you’re not pulled back into the same old cycles.
In over 15 years of working with people struggling with anxiety and depression, I’ve seen how much can change when you stop fighting yourself.

Have energy left at the end of the day for the people and things you care about.
Feel like reaching out again, and more connected to the people around you.
Ease up on self-criticism and treat yourself with the same understanding you’d offer someone you care about.
